Is done! And I love it. Well not really the pink panels because it suddenly became PINK but the hex's on the shot green is gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous and I would happily toss it over my bed or sofa.
Hexagons are just an excercise in hand sewing arent they? To the paper, to each other, to the quilt back. Teeny tiny incy wincy stitches. And then you quilt it. One by one. I do love hand quilting but its not something that can be rushed ( which is the point I think) so, given its the way I quilt, my fingers would really appreciate it if I invested in a thimble.
Being a brand new, callouses on finger tips handstitched quilt, I am still exisiting in the mindset that nobody is allowed to climb on it, crawl on it, suck on it, roll on it, play house with it or wrestle the cats on it. Particularly not wrestle the cats on it.
And no jeans will perch their behind and rivet stud pockets on it.
Ever.
They are 'Auntie Rules'. She who makes the quilt makes the rules because she will be the one unpicking and re attaching a lilypad if one single itty bitty stitch gets broken. Which would require an aeroplane ticket.
Ok. So maybe she can break a little stitch.....
My sister is not allowed to stroke it until someone very special turns one.
That there is a 'Sister Rule'.
She turns one in July.
That practically makes me a sadist doesnt it.
Gee I can be mean
xx
*Forgive the appalling photos please. The camera and I were having a major disagreement over what constituted "in focus".
Your quilt is stunning! Love the hexagons and the green background. Your quilts are always so beautiful and inspiring. However I can't keep up (I want to make all of them!).
