Time moves fast.Entire days zip on by from school run to dinner panic and there's not a lot that gets achieved in the middle. Some days are great and when I look back over what was done I can smile.Other days.Well lets not talk about them ok? But sometimes...... you finish the softest and brightest quilt for those cold nights on the sofa, Sometimes you conquer a fear of SSK and K2T and the like..... do NOT go looking at the sleeves. You eagle eyed tension queens look away !! We also took a ferry across the seas to Cockatoo Island.Heaven on the harbour as far as the boys were concerned and we had a spectacular day enjoying the creations on display as part of the Sydney Biennale. Colanders.I know right?? A fantastic installation and a lot of running in amongst it took place let me assure you.Not so fun when you get whacked by a line of swinging hard plastic things but that was part of the challenge! More green.I cannot describe the gloss on this.It was perfect Now this was such fun! I defy anyone to resist running across rooftops when the opportunity presents.... This though was cruelty itself-a jumping castle with no jumping allowed. The island is a wonderland of tunnels and towers and we had a great family day out.You can also camp there which is something to think about when the weather warms up. It was a very exciting day Although someone felt a little frazzled at the end of it clearly! We have had band camp and soccer and my classes are going really well.I am hoping to expand into adult classes soon. There is something else so absurdly exciting I cannot say a word.Hopefully that is going to change soon!! On a very personal note, there has been a change in my life recently and we are all benefiting from it.Time bombs are unpleasant things but you become so very conditioned by them. You accept and justify. You modify your behaviour and ,quite naturally, learn to be like them if for no other reason than its how to get by.Every time there is an explosion and you think its got to stop, they make you laugh and behave lovingly and you think you were over reacting. When you reach a situation (and it was not so big in the scheme of blow ups but it was the straw that truly broke this camels back) that causes you to actually step back and acknowledge that it is not normal behaviour and most certainly not healthy, it is like a weight has moved from your life.Reaching that stage is hard and you don't know when ,or even if, it will come but when it does...well let me just say it is a relief.Sad but a relief.Breaking a cycle.Lighter is good.I don't know why people accept things when they don't have to.Many have been for far too long. I have also discovered the delight of baby knits.Leftover skeins of yarn that I had no idea what to do with are being turned into super fast teensy tiny hats and booties. The school fete craft stall is looking like it might get lucky as heavens knows I cannot think of a single 'baby to be' in my vicinity. And a little help -If anyone knows of a really lovely poncho pattern please let me know.I have had a look on Ravelry but didnt see what I'm after.Something light and elegant I can whip up in some Jo Sharp silk georgette. I have been writing and uploading this post for the last three hours thanks to internet drops outs.Perhaps why I don't blog so much these days.I will try to get that sorted out I promise because apart from ignoring you by not blogging, when I do I ignore my family. Not so good. Oh lovely husband just delivered hot tea to long suffering internet challenged wife.Smile xxxxx
even the back is yummy.Still working on Olivers birthday quilt.Slooooowly.
look at the pretty moss stitch instead...in this yarn(colour 967) it makes for a very cuddly smartly dressed son!

Those green alien looking blobs- colanders, really? Very cool! You have been busy- sweaters (very impressive) and quilts (love the colors) and classes- and being a mom and wife? You're really making us under achievers look bad! :) I've been lounging around letting the house get messy- the washing machine has been broken a week now (waiting on a part)and I need to get out of this funk. I have mountains of clothes to wash- it's pretty scary in that room and one of the dogs barfed on a chair cover and a throw blanket- lovely! Hope you're all well.
