I am so sorry- I left you with a sobbing post and then vanished.I am out from under my rock now and I must say Thank You SOOOOO much for your kind words and encouraging sentiments. What a little village we are!! It is always good to hear that you are not alone in panic and sadness no matter how big or small the reality might seem to others and I truly appreciate all the loving and supportive emails and messages I have received from you all. Step by step as we get to the end and start fresh.
Now....HAPPY DECEMBER !!!
Does that fill you with horror?I am going to try to be positive.I have not begun 'the shopping' yet or completed the advent calender or made the christmas quilts or a million other things that were on my list.I have however made us a fabulous recycled wreath and completed some fabulous costumes for the Wizard of Oz school concert and read the Twilight series.Feeling a little obsessed with Edward Cullen I must say-so much so that after reading all four books in as many days I then found the 300 page draft for Midnight Sun on Stephanie Meyers website and promptly read that.My poor husband ; )
The wreath is made from a plastic shopping bag cut into strips and then scraps from my pink/reds bag.Do you colour co-ordinate your scraps? The boys art teacher did something similar with them but they used generic shopping bags.I sent them off with a lovely selection of plastic shopping bags but my boys managed to let everyone else use them and came home with grey for me.I cannot complain about the sharing of course but really boys!! So I made my own and added tulle, linen, silk to the mix.It looks very nice at the top of the french dresser.
I have also been making a little family of reindeer who are making themselves at home along the ledge of the dresser ( not sure what I did before this peice of furniture came into my life!) amongst pine cones found while bike riding and some lovely silver mercury decorations I bought on holidays last year.I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
I am going to be very good and attentive for a bit now and post every day.I hope you dont go into shock!!
xxxx
Glad to hear you're back on track. Lots of love to you! x
