Seen these??
Easter craft is abundant in blogland at the moment and these from 'retro mama' are super scrap user-uppers and gorgeous to boot. Not to mention the perfect late-night sewing/tv watching/ fantail chewing activity.Lucky I spent a good couple of hours cleaning out the scrap bags the other day.Funny how little I had left at the end of it.I must shove every little teensy piece of chopped and un-useable fabric back in those bags for future....what??? Un-useable.Now I have user friendly pieces and a bowl of little squares for more of this egg craft.
Let the little monkeys loose on some of those plastic eggs from the craft department. The control freak in you might find this a little challenging as kiddies are prone to glue your carefully snipped squares on either backwards or all on top of each other.Go figure. You will find your fingers sticking together from all the glue miss-hap 'helpful' re-arranging you will have to do.Compelled.When that's dry, choose your ribbon or really, let them as its meant to be their easter craft.Use industrial strength fabric glue-open windows and remove children, pets and possibly plants from the building. You will of course inhale and remain in the room.Duh. Stick from top around and under and meet in the top again.Snip.Now go the other way but don't snip when you get back to the top because you want hanging length. When its all dry and looking yummy thread your kids names on the ribbon. Not as tricky as it might sound. The ribbon is only about 1cm/10mm wide and the beads have a large hole in the middle.Snip the end of your ribbon on a deep slant then poke pointy bit through the beads.Simply re-snip neatly when you're done.
If we hadn't done this
I'd be threading a little pearl8 or similar through the fabric eggs and hanging them on a hoop to make an easter mobile.Cute.
And looky at this
A great big gorgeous easter egg tealight holder.Gotta love 'Bed Bath and Table'.
Ok... off to make more pirate bunnies. The inner-west is having a bunny infestation.Soooo not complaining. Thanks ladies!!
Ooooo....can you tell I have had a large coffee and a mini mars bar for breakfast??For heavens sake don't tell the kids. All that caffeine should make me sew like a demon.......
xxxx
I think I may have to have a play this weekend with some quite revolting coloured eggs that we have and fabric, thank you for the idea :) the kids will love it xxx

Hi - I found your blog a few weeks ago via the gorgeous Yvestown. I got all inspired, thanks to your fabric eggs, and my 3 and 5 year old daughters and I made some and they look fantastic! So impressed! thanks again. Kelly
