My first attempt at a doll.Lulu in my head is somewhat more edgy but this is where I got to.Husband says she looks a little Japanese.I can see where he's coming from and given that I had more of a gamine, stripey tights, polkadot blouse thing in my head,I'm not sure how I got here. But I like her. She's sweet. Is she what little girls dream of?If so I'll make some more. All sorts of Lulus.Well......a girls gotta have a few different looks doesn't she?
You know the funniest thing?I studied fashion design.I know how to make clothes but I have never really enjoyed it.It stresses my head and then I muck it up.Standing here hand sewing all these little bits and pieces was very calming. And I french seamed the lot.Hate edges.I do possess an overlocker but it is sixteen years old and I probably haven't used it for fifteen years.Thats how I feel about edges.Must go and see someone about that problem really...................
Nightime Lulu
Daytime Lulu
I was going to give her my little friend who turns two today -Happy Birthday Miss Lola!!!-but I don't think she's ready.Lulu is tall and gangly and handstitched and I think she and Lola can be friends in a couple of years. The more I look at her the more I am convinced of this.Am I a big meany????? I think miss Lola will be happier with an elephant than a doll her mummy puts up high or her big sister sneaks off to her room.Best laid plans huh?
Oooo.Btw.Lovely Jan and Earl from poppytalk invited me to join this months market.Starts today so go on over and have a peep. They always have such a wonderful mix of talent so even if you're not going shopping its great to see what people are doing.
The suns out today-woohoo! I'm taking my five year old outside.x
She is ADORABLE! :)
