I was visiting Anna Marias blog and I thought this was indeed worth sharing.
Stories like this are so beautiful,so sad and yet so hopeful. Its the dollar and the busyness of life today. It makes me so cross which I know is unrealistic because ,really, its progress isnt it?
Yet the progress I love is the swell of handcrafted goods and homegrown and the nurturing of skills perhaps we watched our grandparents use.So many of us are turning back that way.I think that is courageous.Whether you choose a little or a lot you are making a statement about how you want to live. How you want your family to grow.I guess that is the most powerful and simple protest against the masses.
Perhaps some will come to learn the art from these women.I hope so.I am so tired of beautiful and skillful work competing with pumped out cheap made in China goods. Too many people don't care about the difference. Maybe one day that will change.
Have a beautiful weekend!
