That was the subject in my inbox just now from my mum.She had hit the keyboards after I had just discovered that someone very close to us had been slagging me off(for want of a better phrase-nope there isnt one) to my own children.Delightful.
This is what mums do though isnt it?We encourage, remind, nurture and love even when our 'babies' are old with some natural blond(white!!) peeping through. They still need a boost and we are first in line to lift them up so they can see again.Breath clean air.
'amazing things about clare the bear. Funny smart witty fierce clever creative thinker sensitive party chick energy plus beautiful amazing mother gorgeous daughter fabulous sister writer photographer designer disciplined worker and artist fast walker brilliant yoga teacher in waiting. best death stare ever'
Thanks mummy.I do love that last bit-Oliver had to get it from somewhere!
We are lapping it up while it lasts.Freshwater Beach was gorgeous this morning although there was a rip hiding in there which required a little help from a life guard at one point.
#bad photo sorry-iphone.When did Henry become a giant? I think I missed something.......
I am not a strong swimmer and so after a little "oooh this is a little alarming and hang on I cant move in the direction I need to and I'm trying to hold on to Henry on his wave rider and we are going the wrong way....) I decided to play 'catch the child before they get dragged down the beach' and positioned myself knee deep while they hurtled towards me.Perfect.
For the longest time now I have planned to sell some of my patterns but the questions!!
Which ones to start with?
Do I want to risk people passing the completed friend off as their own ( I have seen this recently online from the pattern of a well know doll maker and it pisses me off)(and yes it was clearly the same )
Would people want them in PDF or hard copy or an option??
Now its been nearly two years since I first thought I should sell the patterns instead of the actual soft friend soooooo , I pulled my finger out and got some done.MIRACLE!!!!!
I thought I would start with my lovely giraffes but a simpler version so a beginner can enjoy making them aswell.
I have also nearly finished the instructions for my owl and my sausage dog with jacket.
Does that sound like a good start? If you were to choose one would you like it to arrive in the post or would you want to print it out for yourself (Some will be about 8 pages)??
Let me know how you would like them and I will do my best(promise!!) to get them online next week.
Do you know this is all coming to you on my brand new birthday present ? Just in the nick of time too as my macbook keeled over and blacked out on monday and tuesday I had a birthday and got a flashy new friend to play with. I love flashy new friends.Particularly flashy new friends with lots of memory and big shiny screens and design software ready to play.
Oh how I love thee shall I count the ways.....
Just a little word of warning-do make sure your computer is backed up people because when it really tips you over the edge and behaves in a terminal fashion one too many times.....
you may be inclined to hit it...hard
while saying very bad words that ladies should never say ....
lets be honest-when your life is trapped inside a rectangular heap of tin and that heap of tin behaves very very inconsiderately.....
there are no ladies. Not one.I would have made the truckies blush.Wince even.
So BACK UP YOUR COMPUTERS JUST INCASE THEY ARE NAUGHTY AND MUST BE PUNISHED!!!!!!!!!
Well you don't have one yet but yes my sweet I shall indulge you because when I needed you to sit quietly the other week you did and when I asked you to draw something and stitch it you did.
Red you say?Of course.A big boy bag you insist. Why, I wouldnt make you anything but that (my baby).
So he stitched and I stitched and together we made a bag.Not just any bag but a Wild Thing big boy computer sized bag that slings across his body just so and will fit just a lego man if that is the only company he requires that day.The perfect boy bag.
Sydney is being her usual hormonal February self.Hot,humid and if you go outside you need sunglasses or gumboots depending on her mood that hour.
We are dreaming of cooler times to come.
Henry requested a funnel neck jumper.Having not knit any proper clothing for....well......ever,I thought I would be kind to myself and ease my way in.I had this done in three evenings which included one spent frogging because I botched half a row.Who came up with frogging as a way to describe having to unravel, rewind and start over because you seriously ballsed it up?? There are other words I think would be far more appropriate.Sweet slimy jumping creatures don't deserve the slander.............
I'm not sure what happened really. The same busy fever that takes over all of us in early December got me too but I didnt handle it.I felt steemrolled and then this little scrap of plastic and I am tapping away on,decided it hated me and I could not upload and bloody thing let alone be on the internet for longer than a hiccup and to be frank it was a bit much.So a few days turned into a week and that became a lot longer.I am very sorry.I also lost interest on a weird level and whilst I had things I wanted to share with you, I couldn't be bothered battling the computer.
Now the computer and I have come to some kind of resolve and I have backed up everything and deleted a whole lot more so fingers crossed we are good to go people. I realised how much I missed you and everything you share with me and teach me and I am ready to play again after my sulk.
For those of you who empathised with our school decision, I am delighted to tell you that we are four days in and there are smiles.Lots of smiles. We did the right thing of that we have no doubt.
Christmas making was rather stop and start(can I really be speaking of something that happened last year??).I did manage to achieve a couple of things that I was determined to get finished and given that I bought the printed squares back in August, the thought of not getting these done was enough of a smack so on christmas eve the boys got their christmas cushions.
These came to me all the way from a Berlin christmas market.Lucky me!
We finally got to use the candle we bought at a christmas market in Lille in 2008.
I hope I find you all living 2010 (so far!) the way you want it to be.
