Hi all.You ladies are so fabulous-I disappear for a while and when I come back I lay that one you!And you are as lovely and supportive as I knew you would be.Its a pity so many have that in their life but shrug it off we must learn to do.Duck feathers, shrugging lessons and perhaps a plane ticket or four.Lets do it.xxxx
Now for the M rating.Breakfast.
See Rhubarbs 'comb' on top of her head? Its getting darker. That means we are getting closer to EGGS!!!! Weeeeeeeeee.
They are so funny -they wipe the goop off their beaks in between gobbling because it sticks to the outside. They don't mind though. They rush me when I come out with my singsong "Hi girly girls" greeting.
Recipe????Don't have one.Mainly oats then some sunflower seads, maize, wheatbran and some fruit from the scrap bowl all topped with hot water until sticky mush.It was trial and error with the most obvious things in the pantry.Weaning off the nasty commercial grit meal they came with.
You're hungry now right?!?!?
And whoever said you must put mesh on the underside of the coop so nothing can dig its way in to eat the girls or the eggs?I want a word with you(must find that book......).Let me just say that soon there will be no gaps between the mesh because the poo gets flattened out and becomes totally uncleanable and then drys.I'm sure if we did manage to get it off you could build a house with it.Mudbrick indeed!
Now the 'H'.A little horror if you so desire but if you are hanging on to the fact that it is still July and therefore NOWHERENEAR youknowhat-Jingle jingle-then turn me off now.OK?Anyone left?
TA DA!
I'm only showing this much so as to reduce the shock. But I am busy embroidering all things merry and bright and having a lovely time with them. And the linen makes for a lovely stocking. And they're big.Perfect.
I'll put them in the shop for pre-ordering in the next month or two-it would be rude to do it before the end of August which is probably when the department stores are going to start tizzing up that section again. And that way I'll have time to embroider the recipients name and christmas ornaments etc,and get them made and sent before the 'bigdeal' month.I was planning on making them just for the boys but I think you'll like them too : )
I have successfully filled up my time towards the beginning of November so I am trying to get everything else done or at least started now.Better to be flat out busy with a finish line than not.
Did I tell you a little someone snipped the tails off my hex's??That will teach me to leave my scissors near my spot on the couch......a little redoing to be done.......
Have a gorgeous weekend.I am taking the boys up north for the rest of the school holidays.About 14 hours in the car.Ouch.
Take care.xxxx
Have a lovely holiday Clare. But if you mention jingle-jingle anywhere this side of November again I'll have to strangle-strangle.
xxxxx
